For years, Big Tobacco has used flavoring to lure young smokers into a life of addiction. Now they are using this same strategy to entice today’s youth into trying e-cigarettes.

It has also been found that if teens start vaping with sweet flavors like cotton candy or mango, they are more likely to develop a lifetime addiction.

According to the 2020 National Youth Tobacco Survey by the FDA,

22.5% of high school students use e-cigs daily

Know the Cost: Youth Tobacco Prevention

This video is a collaborative project of the Florida Certification Board and the Florida Department of Children and Families, Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health. The premise of the video is to illustrate the major influences and pressures on youth to use tobacco and other nicotine products. The characters consider the costs of using these products for themselves, their friends, and their family members. In the end, they make their own informed decisions.
